Wordlebuilding is a worldbuilding tool that uses the game Wordle to generate maps of a fantasy setting. The colours and letters in the completed Wordle determine what the environment is like in each square of the map. I really enjoyed tweaking my mechanics to get the balance of natural features and weird magical places just right.
Wordlebuilding was my entry to The Wordle Jam, a game jam by Matthew R.F. Baloušek. You can download it for free or pay-what-you-want on my itch page.
This Land is a collaborative worldbuilding microgame about natural forces, oppressive systems, and the people that live with them.
It was my entry to James Chip's Micro Fiction Game Jam (2021), for games written in under 280 characters.
Making the prompts both broad and evocative, within such a tight constraint, was a very fun challenge!
You can find the full text of the game for free on the jam's website.
What We Strive For – a solo journalling game about distant dreams and actions close to hand.
Not This Again – a Twine interactive fiction game about a disabled urban fantasy hero desperately trying to carve out time from their responsibilities.
